Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 9 amβ6 pm. It is closed on Monday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (607) 319-5006. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, alleycatithaca.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 375 reviews, which is a strong result for a cafe in Ithaca and suggests consistent service.
Ithaca is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Ithaca is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

An interesting menu including lots of vegetarian options. Reasonable prices. For a $5 donation you can go sit with the cats although they are separated from all the food areas. Abone of a kind laid-back atmosphere and good coffees available.

Good food, wonderfully friendly staff, fun atmosphere and cats to interact with! How could this not be great. The reservations to interact with the cats was easy. The cats are in a room separate from the cafe but easily viewable through a clear wall. Friendly cats to cuddle with (mostly kittens when we were there). They had vegan donuts from Angleheart Donuts available and an absolutely delicious vegan, gluten free, banana cake topped with coconut cream. Lots of hot/cold coffee options too. The owner was so nice and friendly. What a great place. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting some great coffee and snacks with a side of cat cuddles.

So worth it! The vegan options are amazing, the Purple Cat latte was SO good, the cats were incredibly sweet and playful AND you get to help support a local cat rescue! So glad I dropped while I'm in town! Thank you to the amazing staff for the fun morning!!

Went here to grab a cup while waiting to see Kathleen Madigan at State theater. Also, a cat rescue nearby. Love the little guys! Coffee was great, too! Around the corner from state theatre. A place to stop by, and enjoy a cup of delicious coffee or tea.

Please visit this adorable Cafe and adopt a cat if you are dedicated to loving cats. We had a great time here and if my sister and I didn't already have 12 cats between the 2 of us, we would have taken hone 2 or 3 of these lovey babies.
